No More Snow, Please!

Sharing is caring!

At the time I am writing this, 12:30 am (I should be in bed, I know), the internet says we have a winter storm warning in effect for the next 20 hours. There’s already a couple inches on the ground.

2013-02-15 at 21-36-09I really thought we’d be done with winter by now. Didn’t the groundhog promise us an early spring? It’s practically the end of March! And it’s already been a pretty cold and snowy winter. I’m done. Not, of course, that I have any say in it.

I’m so not looking forward to that 5:30 am phone call tomorrow letting us know school is delayed or cancelled (gee thanks, now we’re up). I’m also not very excited about giving up any more of our summer vacation to extend the school year to make up the days we missed. Summer is too short as it is. And most importantly in the immediate future, I’m not sure we have enough firewood to get through a chilly day tomorrow.

It’s not that I don’t like snow. We had a great time skiing with friends this weekend. And I actually do like snow days sometimes. It’s kind of a fun treat…the kids go sledding, we watch a movie, play monopoly…it’s a day to play hooky!  The kids are all rooting for a snow day tomorrow. They’ll be sorry when its nice and sunny, and I’m sitting by the pool sipping lemonade working outside while they’re still at school. Just kidding. It’s a fun thought, but I never work poolside.

I wasn’t kidding about the firewood though. We are out. No more snow, please!

An update: Delay only…hurray! And one of our phones was off the hook, so we didn’t get the call! However, my daughter’s alarm went off so we woke up anyway.
