How Does Your Garden Grow? {Ladies Only Blog Share}

Sharing is caring!

Ladies Only Blog Share

Happy Friday! I’m so thrilled to be welcoming you back to our bi-weekly Ladies Only Blog Share Link Party, where we have an incredible group of bloggers linking up with us and sharing! This week’s theme is How Does Your Garden Grow. When I think about this theme, I tend to think about parenting and how the things that go into a successful garden are also very important for a successful parent – child relationship. Watering and weeding your garden create an atmosphere where plants can grow and bloom. The same is true for children. But really “How Does Your Garden Grow” could have so many meanings…self improvement, cooking (because we can’t grow without nourishment), community planning, or even the obvious…gardening!

With that in mind, I’ve been thinking about some of my favorite posts that I’ve come across this week, and there’s a few that I want to share and spread some blog love around! I hope you enjoy them!

Dana from Kiss My List shares how one of the best gifts you can give your child is to tell them why you love them, in This is why I love you – a birthday message to my son. If you are anything like me, you may not have dry eyes when you finish reading this.

Who Will You Become, from Kate at the Sticky Mom, also struck a chord. One of the most important things we can teach our children is to believe in themselves. They learn resilience, how to deal with life’s curve balls, and move past them…from us! Their belief in themselves stems from our belief in them.

I’ve been thinking about this post from Raising Flowers and Skids about The Difference a Coach Makes since I read it. Leah shares how a change in coaches on her son’s team made all the difference in the world. A positive coach can do wonders for a child’s self esteem, win or lose! I also loved how she reminded us that as parents, we are also coaches for our kids, and have the opportunity to offer them the encouragement and the guidance that they need to succeed in life.

So many great places stories to read! Thanks for hosting this linkup, Michelle. I am a certified black thumb gardener, so my hubby takes care of all of our houseplants. :-) Since I have nothing positive to add in the way of actual gardening advice other than "I am not the girl you ask to take care of your houseplants!", I linked up to a post about cultivating jealousy.

Thanks for linking my post Michelle! I am a terrible "real" gardener, but when I think of gardening, I think of parenting too (or coaching or teaching). Knowing when sunshine is needed and when a good rain is needed. A little fun, some discipline, and a whole lot of love!

Leah, I absolutely loved that post. It's been in the back of my mind since I read it! I always love a great sports or coaching post! Coaches have such a great opportunity to shape our young people! Are you on twitter or facebook? I can't find you anywhere! I would have given you a shout out but I wasn't sure how!
